In a surprising turn of events, Olympique Lyonnais have started a turnaround in Ligue 1. After enduring a rough patch with disappointing results, Lyon appears to have found their footing, securing back-to-back wins and showing notable improvement.

A significant moment for Lyon arrived with their win over AS Monaco, finally lifting them from the bottom of the Ligue 1 table—a position they had held since the 21st of October. They stayed for 55 consecutive nights at the league's lowest position.

One of the most notable changes in Lyon's recent matches has been their defense. In the initial 14 matches of the season, they conceded an average of 1.93 goals per game. Now, in their last two matches, Lyon have managed to keep a clean sheet. This defensive improvement  marks the first time since January-February of the current year that they've had consecutive clean sheets in Ligue 1.

Lyon have also sharpened their finishing in the final third. While they were plagued by a poor shot conversion rate of 6% in the first 14 matches, the team now has a 20% conversion rate in their last two games. This offensive revival, accompanied by their defensive stability, gives the team confidence for their upcoming fixtures.

Looking ahead, OL have a chance to finish the year on a high note with a potential three-game winning streak. Their next match comes against FC Nantes, a team they have dominated in home meetings, winning 14 out of 18 games in Ligue 1 in the 21st century.
