AS Monaco will host Stade Rennais on Sunday afternoon in a battle which could have huge consequences in the race for European football in Ligue 1 Uber Eats

It will be a battle between eighth and fourth, as Monaco face Stade Rennais at Stade Louis II this Sunday in a clash which could be key in determining the fight for European positions in Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

Lille's win over Olympique de Marseille last night has seen Les Dogues go level on points with Les Monégasques on the all-important podium position for Champions League football. Adi Hütter's side decimated Metz in their previous outing in Ligue 1 (5-2) to take third place, whilst Rennes currently trail OGC Nice by four points for a spot in the Europa League next season following a defeat to Strasbourg (2-0).

The Principality side were unbeaten in the last month of action in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, leaving them in a strong position to qualify for European football of some kind. Whilst PSG lead the league with a 13 point advance, ASM could still catch Brest in second place who only lead by a single point.

Rennes, on the other hand, have been struggling in recent times. Les Rouge et Noir have failed to win in their last three away fixtures and only won one of their last four in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, dropping two vital points against Lille and notably losing to Strasbourg. They also narrowly lost to PSG midweek in the Coupe de France semi-final (0-1).
