Friday night's action will see Toulouse face Montpellier at home, whilst Lorient travel to Lens to open this weekend's Ligue 1 Uber Eats fixtures

Both the fight for Europe and the battle to stay up in Ligue 1 Uber Eats heat up further on a double-header between Toulouse, Montpellier, then Lens, and Lorient.

Toulouse vs Montpellier: Les Violets targeting last-gasp European push

Toulouse will host Montepllier having already secured their spot in Ligue 1 Uber Eats for a second season running. Les Violets are hoping to make a last minute push towards the European positions at the end of the season, whilst the visitors can secure safety in Ligue 1 with only one more victory.

Carles Martinez Novell's side have an outside chance of sealing a Europa Conference League position, but they need to close a gap of six points between Lens who currently hold the all-important sixth position. Les Violets have strung together an impressive run of form, enjoying currently a five-match unbeaten run. Montpellier are also on a similar run, having also been unbeaten since returning from the international break.

Lens vs Lorient: Safety and Europe on the line at Stade Bollaert

RC Lens are looking for a place in Europe, sitting currently behind Nice following last week's 2-1 loss to Marseille. Meanwhile, Lorient are desperate to try and drag themselves out of relegation trouble, three points below the relegation line after being defeated at home to Toulouse last weekend.

Lorient have slid further down the standings in recent weeks, having conceded a record high 71 times which have led to Les Merlus losing each of their last 5 Ligue 1 fixtures. They are on their longest losing streak ever in the top flight, but a win would help stop the rot.
