The Brazilian superstar had a warning for PSG - who have shown worrying signs in recent outings - as they head into Wednesday night's crunch Champions League clash away to Manchester United. Meanwhile Rennes do battle with Krasnodar.

UEFA Champions League, Matchday 5

Group H

Old Trafford, Manchester

Manchester United - Paris Saint-Germain

- Kick-off at 21:00 CET (20:00 GMT)

Paris Saint-Germain (six points) have a chance to go level with Group H leaders Manchester United (nine points) when they face the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Wednesday, but Neymar knows his side need to lift their game after disappointing performances in their last three matches.

Worrying signs

Their last two league outings have seen them surrender two-goal leads to lose away to Monaco 3-2 and draw 2-2 with Bordeaux, while their 1-0 Matchday 4 win against Leipzig saw them scrape through with a Neymar penalty despite being dominated by the German side, who sit level with them on points.

Neymar: 'Get better organised'

Coach Thomas Tuchel was ropable after his side allowed Bordeaux a share of the points with a tepid performance at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, and it seems that the dressing room is on the same wavelength as the possibility of failing to progress from the group stage for the first time in the Qatari era looms.

"We know how important Wednesday's match is," Neymar told Canal+ after the draw with Bordeaux. Knowing that PSG's fate will be out of their hands should they lose at Old Trafford. "We have to improve certain details, play more as a team and get better organised, otherwise it's going to be very difficult."

Nonetheless, PSG could also stitch up qualification for the round of 16 if they can beat Manchester by two or more goals, or by scoring at least three goals, while also needing RB Leipzig to draw with Basaksehir.

Verratti to start, Marquinhos vs Cavani

Still dealing with a number of injuries (Pablo Sarabia, Julian Draxler, Mauro Icardi) in the squad, Tuchel is tipped to make few changes, but should opt for a 4-3-3 with Angel Di Maria on the right, Kylian Mbappé replacing Moise Kean through the middle and Neymar on the left. Danilo Pereira should start in his preferred holding midfield role, leaving captain Marquinhos to marshal the defence alongside Presnel Kimpembe.

Undefeated in the EPL in six matches and four in all competitions, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United side are in powerful form, notably with PSG legend and all-time top scorer Edinson Cavani coming off a double in the 3-2 EPL win over Southampton at the weekend.

Probable teams

Manchester United:
Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelöf, Maguire, Telles; Fred, McTominay, Van de Beek; Fernandes (c); Cavani, Rashford

Paris Saint-Germain: Navas; Florenzi, Marquinhos (c), Kimpembe, Kurzawa; Paredes, Pereira, Verratti; Di Maria, Mbappé, Neymar

Group E

Krasnodar Stadium, Krasnodar

FK Krasnodar - Stade Rennais FC

- Kick-off at 18:55 CET (17:55 GMT)

Meanwhile it's all or nothing for Rennes as they look for a maiden Champions League win - away to Krasnodar - to earn them third place in the group and the Europa League last 16 berth that goes with it.

Winless in all competitions since the end of October, Rennes have been doing it hard and have a difficult challenge in place without main striker Serhou Guirassy (ankle, out for two months) as well as key stopper Nayef Aguerd and talented winger Martin Terrier (both COVID).

All or nothing

Nonetheless, coach Julien Stéphan remains circumspect.

"In the first match against Krasnodar [1-1 in Rennes on Matchday 1], we had a lot of chances to win it, but we just couldn't find the second goal that would have changed everything," he explained. "Almost all the teams playing in Europe, from every league, are struggling at the moment, even the big clubs."

Probable teams

FK Krasnodar:
Gordon; Smolnikov, Martinovitch (c), Kaio, Ramirez; Gazinski, Olsson; Souleimanov, Cabella, Claesson; Berg

Stade Rennais FC: Gomis; Traoré, Da Silva (c), Nyamsi, Truffert; Bourigeaud, Nzonzi, Léa-Siliki; Doku, Hunou, Del Castillo
