Rennes goalkeeper Steve Mandanda has been called up to join the France squad ahead of Sunday's final UEFA Nations League game against Denmark.

Mandanda was left out of Didier Deschamps' original selection, but has been drafted in following an injury to Mike Maignan in the first half of Thursday's 2-0 win against Austria at the Stade de France.

The 37-year-old, who has collected 34 caps over 14 years mostly as back-up goalkeeper with Les Bleus, has not been called up in the last 12 months, last playing for his country in November 2020.

Ex- LOSC Lille man Maignan's calf injury will sideline him for around three weeks, which is the same amount of time former Bordeaux defender Jules Koundé will be out following the thigh injury he suffered in the first half.
