In the Coupe de France, Olympique Lyonnais triumphed 2-1 over Bergerac Périgord FC in the round of 32 at the Stade Beaublanc. The Ligue 1 side suffered against a tough Championnat National 2 team.

Malick Fofana, assisted by the experienced Alexandre Lacazette, netted the first goal in the 37th minute. Fofana scored his first goal for OL while making his first start for the club. The visitors seemed as if they were going to halftime with the lead when Bergerac surprised them.

In the dying moments of the first half, Bergerac tied the game up on a Romain Escarpit goal, courtesy of an assist from Hicham M’Laab. The equalizer injected energy into the match, setting the stage for an exciting second half.

The dynamics shifted dramatically in the 65th minute when Christian Gyeboaho, representing the home team, received a red card, reducing Bergerac to ten men. Lyon seized this opportunity, and in the 78th minute, Maxence Caqueret capitalized on the numerical advantage, finding the back of the net to secure a 2-1 lead.

Caqueret's goal proved decisive, ensuring Lyon's progression to the next stage of the competition. The match highlighted the resilience of Bergerac, competing against a top-tier opponent and reminding us of the magic of the Coupe de France.
