Marquinhos has now equaled Marco Verratti as one of the most decorated players in Ligue 1 history, following Paris Saint-Germain's clinching of their 12th league title last month.

Following his historic accomplishment of etching his name in PSG's history for the most appearances for the club, the Brazilian defender added another milestone to his resume in Ligue 1 by now equaling his former teammate's record of nine league titles.

Marquinhos now shares the top spot among the league's most celebrated players due to his achievement. He surpasses stalwarts like Jean-Michel Larqué and Hervé Revelli from Saint-Étienne, the Lyon trio of Grégory Coupet, Juninho, and Sidney Govou, his former captain Thiago Silva, and even Kylian Mbappé, all of whom have seven titles to their names.
