On Sunday afternoon, there were several thrilling Ligue 1 matches as Clermont Foot and Stade de Reims secured crucial wins while Monaco and FC Lorient played to a draw. Here's a recap of all the action.

Clermont Foot 2-1 Le Havre

Thanks to a brace from Muhammed Cham, Clermont's win over Le Havre gave them three crucial points in their battle to avoid relegation. André Ayew added the lone goal for Le Club Doyen, but it wasn't enough to avoid the loss. Les Lanciers now trail FC Nantes by just five points for the relegation playoff spot, adding more excitement to the race to remain in France's top flight.

Stade de Reims 2-1 FC Metz

Metz are another team in the middle of the relegation battle, but unlike Clermont, they couldn't secure a win. Will Still and his team took all three points as Oumar Diakité opened the scoring in the third minute. Metz responded courtesy of a goal from Arthur Atta in the 14th minute, but Reims struck back in the second half through Junya Ito, allowing them to leave the game with the win.

FC Lorient 2-2 Monaco

Monaco missed an opportunity to take over second place in Ligue 1 after Brest had drawn against LOSC Lille. Both Monaco and Lorient benefitted from own goals, but it was Youssouf Fofana who gave Les Rouge et Blanc the 2-1 lead.

Adi Hütter and his team were close to leaving with all three points, then Tiemoué Bakayoko dashed the hopes of his former club, scoring in the second half stoppage time as the contest ended in a draw.
