Mario Balotelli scored his second goal for the club as Olympique de Marseille came back from a goal behind at Dijon to win 2-1 and make it two league victories in four days.

Dijon FCO 1-2 Olympique de Marseille

THE MATCH

Having beaten Bordeaux behind closed doors at Orange Vélodrome on Tuesday evening, Rudi Garcia's side again showed their character as they eked out another three points to climb to provisional fifth place in the table. Dijon sit precariously two points above the bottom three ahead of the rest of the Week 24 action.

Things started badly for OM as Dijon took the lead (18') with their first serious attempt. Visiting goalkeeper Steve Mandanda spilled a Fouad Chafik shot and Jordan Marié followed up to net for Antoine Kombouaré's team. Marseille didn't threaten in an attacking sense before the break and Wesley Saïd could have doubled the home advantage.

OM were much improved after the interval and equalised (56') just after Valère Germain had come on to partner Balotelli in a 4-4-2. Maxime Lopez's corner was flicked on by Florian Thauvin and Balotelli reacted sharply to turn in a right-footed shot. Mandanda (63') saved from Marié and Saïd couldn't get the follow-up on target.

Duje Caleta-Car, the OM defender, had a header from a Kevin Strootman corner saved by Bobby Allain (65') before the visitors scored a crucial second goal (74'). It was all about Lucas Ocampos as the Argentinian cut in from the left, took Cédric Yambéré out of the game and then curled in a shot from just inside the area. The back-to-back wins have revived Marseille's European ambitions, even if they remain six points adrift of third-placed Olympique Lyonnais having played a game more.

THE PLAYER: Mario Balotelli

A scorer on debut in the loss to LOSC in Week 22, the Italian was ineligible for the Bordeaux success on Tuesday. The former Nice hitman returned to the starting line-up with a bang, looking sharper than he had in his previous start in defeat at Reims the previous Saturday.

THE STAT: 9

Balotelli had nine goal attempts, managing four efforts on target, record numbers for the 28-year-old in his Ligue 1 Conforama career.
