Didier Deschamps has announced his 23-man squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Germany and the Netherlands, with the inclusion of Bordeaux 'keeper Benoît Costil his only post-World Cup change.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That was evidently Didier Deschamps' thinking as he announced his first post-World Cup win squad for the matches against Germany and the Netherlands on 6 and 9 September respectively. However, the France boss has made one change, calling up Bordeaux 'keeper Benoît Costil to cover the injury absence of Marseille's Steve Mandanda, who Deschamps noted "would have been called up had he not picked up an injury".
The 23-man squad:
Alphonse Aréola (Paris Saint-Germain), Benoît Costil (Girondins de Bordeaux), Hugo Lloris (Tottenham, ENG)
Lucas Hernandez (Atlético de Madrid, ESP), Presnel Kimpembe (Paris Saint-Germain), Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City, ENG), Benjamin Pavard (Stuttgart, GER), Adil Rami (Olympique de Marseille), Djibril Sidibé (AS Monaco), Samuel Umtiti (Barcelona, ESP), Raphaël Varane (Real Madrid, ESP)
