17-year-old goalkeeper Alban Lafont frustrated Angers with a number of fine saves as Toulouse scored a valuable 0-0 draw at Angers.

THE MATCH

Riding high in fourth place in the table, Toulouse would have lost this game but for the brilliance of their young custodian. That said, the home goalkeeper Matthieu Michel was the first to be called into action to save a Jimmy Durmaz half-volley.

Angers had taken 13 points from their previous six outings and Stéphane Moulin's men spurned a great chance on the stroke of half-time when Karl Toko Ekambi got his shot on the turn all wrong.

Eight minutes after the interval Famara Diedhiou, a double scorer in the 2-1 win at Bastia in Week 9, missed from only five metres out. The Senegalese forward must have sensed it wasn't to be his night when he volleyed goalwards in the 63rd minute and Lafont made a fabulous stop.

A reflex save from substitute Gilles Sunu confirmed Lafont's form. Toulouse were kept scoreless for the ninth time in 13 away matches as Angers managed a second clean sheet of the season. Not even inspirational skipper Martin Braithwaite could make the difference for Toulouse this time.

THE PLAYER: Alban Lafont

Angers had scored in their six previous Ligue 1 matches but that run came to an end thanks to outstanding goalkeeping from Lafont, who recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season.

THE STAT: 18

TFC now have 18 points from 10 games, more than they managed in the entire first half of last season.
