Rennes prodigy Eduardo Camavinga has been named among the 100 nominees for the 2020 'Golden Boy', and could follow Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappé and Anthony Martial in winning the award given to the game's best U21 player.

Camavinga will only turn 18 in November, but was hugely impressive in 25 Ligue 1 appearances last season to help Rennes finish third and qualify for the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League.

The Angola-born prodigy made his French top-flight debut in April 2019, becoming the first player born in 2002 to feature in one of Europe's top five leagues and playing his maiden L1 match earlier than even  Mbappé did at Monaco. Mbappé won the 'Golden Boy' award in 2017 after Martial (2015) and Pogba (2013) had also claimed the honour.

Lyon duo Amine Gouiri and Rayan Cherki, Paris Saint-Germain pair Adil Aouchiche and Mitchel Bakker, Marseille's Marley Aké and Bordeaux's Yacine Adli are also included on the list, which is drawn up by Italian newspaper 'Tuttosport'.

The 2020 winner, who will succeed Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix, will be chosen by a panel of 40 journalists from around Europe.
