Memphis Depay, Tino Kadewere and Karl Toko Ekambi carry Lyon's hopes of ending Friday on top of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table when the seven-time French champions host in-form Bordeaux (kick-off 8pm CET)

Lyon are two points behind Paris Saint-Germain and Lille heading into Round 22, and with the two teams ahead of them in the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table not playing until Sunday, OL have  the opportunity to enjoy nearly 48 hours on the summit of French football.

While former Lyon man Hatem ben Arfa has had a hand in six goals in his last eight league games for Bordeaux, the visitors face the arduous task of stopping the hosts' attacking trident of Memphis Depay, Tino Kadewere and Karl Toko Ekambi, who have been involved in 29 of Lyon's last 35 goals.

Lyon's stunning 5-0 derby demolition of Saint-Etienne last weekend means morale is high, and Houssem Aouar could return to the starting line-up while Maxwel Cornet is also available after both missed the big win at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard as Lyon prepare to face a Bordeaux side on the up.

"We know they're a good team. They've just won three successive games," said boss Rudi Garcia. "We know Ben Arfa's talent. They're a tough team to get round, they fit together well, and have qualites. It's up to us to be at 100%, just as we were in the derby, that's what we want to do."

He added: "I asked them to focus on Bordeaux after the derby. What we did was exceptional, it doesn't happen every day. We're very happy. But the game against Bordeaux is coming up so quickly that we've not had time to get carried away by the euphoria. We reminded them we needed to keep our focus.

"We've been consistent. We played without any let-up. It's a mental thing. When the 11 players think collectively, it gives you a team that is capable of putting in a well-rounded performance."

Bordeaux are on a three-game winning run for the first time since late in the 2017/18 season thanks to their 2-1 home defeat of Angers last time out.

"Perhaps it's easier to go to Lyon on this sort of run, but when you know Lyon's team, you're a bit worried, that's normal. By taking 10 points from 12 and going unbeaten in 2021, you get the impression we're improving a bit, but each time there's a setback, and that brings the system into question," said Bordeaux boss Jean-Louis Gasset, referring to the season-ending Achilles tendon rupture suffered by key midfielder Otavio.

Gasset has seen his team draw with PSG and beat Rennes — currently in fifth — in November, and now wants his side to repeat those performances with Lyon and second-placed Lille their next two opponents.

"Lyon and Lille are two sides I think can push Paris for the title," said Gasset, who is also without young midfielder Mehdi Zerkane. "We'll see after these two games whether we're improving. We're going to have put in the same sort of performance as we did against Rennes and Paris against Lyon and Lille.

"They're complete performances in which we have to play without a complex, play our football. We have to be aware that we do some good things, some good sequences, but then we suddenly go off track."
