AS Saint-Étienne have bolstered their attacking option for the second half of the season with the acquisition of Anthony Modeste on loan from Bundesliga outfit Cologne.
An OGC Nice youth academy graduate who once scored six goals in 16 France youth international caps, Modeste was more recently a 27-goal hero for Cologne in 2016-17, firing them into the UEFA Europa League.
Currently 16th in the table, ASSE have struggled for goals this season, with repurposed midfielder Romain Hamouma top-scoring for the team with four.
Modeste, who has four career assists against Saint-Étienne, will set about firing les Verts back up the table, perhaps as soon as Wednesday, when Claude Puel's side welcome FC Nantes to the Stade de la Beaujoire.
