Second-placed Lens are at Olympique Lyonnais on Saturday evening with visiting coach Franck Haise vowing the northern club will fight for everything as they try to stay near the top of the table.

Having beaten Metz 4-1 last time out, whereas OL allowed a 2-0 lead to slip as they fell 3-2 at Nice, Lens are full of confidence as they head to Groupama Stadium as the nearest challengers to Ligue 1 Uber Eats leaders Paris Saint-Germain. Haise said: "We're going to fight all season long, that's for sure. I don't know what place we'll be fighting for but we will fight in order to try to produce performances that tally with our DNA. Whether we'l be fighting for third, fifth or second I just do not know."

Last season Lens narrowly missed out on European qualification, finishing seventh. Haise added: "We've observed Lyon's matches and we know the quality they have. A lot of things have progressed in terms of their play since their new coach came in. We've observed Lyon's matches and we know the quality they have. Every weekend we take on different opponents with different characteristics. We've carried on where we left off last season, trying always to improve the small details in order to be as active as possible and not simply wait for our opponents to make a mistake."

Bosz: "I'm expecting a spectacular game"

Lyon have lost only two of their last 21 Ligue 1 matches against Lens, winning 14 and drawing five, and the last win for les sang et or was back in August 2014. An entertaining match is in prospect on Saturday night with Lyon (64) and Lens (59) having had the most shots on target in the division.

Lyon boss Peter Bosz said: "I'm expecting it to be a spectacular game. I've watched a lot of their matches and they're never afraid of playing. They play the ball out from the back and they press high. We're not afraid of playing either and we'll see a match between two teams who like to press and want to play. I think it will be a very interesting game."

Bosz admitted the capitulation at Nice was difficult to come to terms with, saying: "It's worse losing like that than when it's obvious you are going to lose and your opponent are obviously superior to you. We were really comfortable in that game, playing really well, and yet we lost and that was very disappointing. With the quality of our players and our experience, the last 10 minutes shouldn't happen. We lost because of a lack of concentration and we must learn from that. Matches last 95 minutes and we need to be conscious of that and fight right until the final whistle."

Jeff Reine-Adelaïde has suffered a stress fracture of his left knee and might not make his OL return until 2022. Lens forward Ignatius Ganago hurt his knee in a collision with Metz goalkeeper Alexandre Oukidja last Sunday and the Cameroonian is a doubt for Saturday.

Probable Teams:
