Exciting Argnetine left-back Nicolas Tagliafico has joined OL on a three-year deal from Ajax, out all the weekend's movements in Ligue 1 Uber Eats.

Nicolas Tagliafico, the Argentinian international left-back from Ajax Amsterdam, has signed a three-year contract with Olympique Lyonnais for a fee of €4.2 million, OL announced on Saturday. The 29-year-old Argentine, who has 40 caps for Argentina, had been playing for Ajax since January 2018. He started in Argentina at Banfield in 2010-11 before being loaned to Real Murcia (Spanish D2, 2012-13). He then played for Independiente, the Argentine club with whom he won the Copa Sudamericana in 2017, for three years from 2015.

With Ajax, Tagliafico won the Dutch championship three times (2019, 2021, 2022) and the national cup twice (2019, 2021) also reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League (2019). Last season he played 22 league games (two goals) with the Amsterdam club. With the Albiceleste, the neo-Lyonnais won the Copa America in 2021, playing five of the national team's seven games.

Pierre-Gabriel and Lees-Melou back

For their part, RC Strasbourg Alsace made the recruitment of Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel, on loan for one season with an option to buy by the German club Mainz, official on Saturday. The 24-year-old former AS Saint-Etienne, AS Monaco and Stade Brestois 29 player will strengthen the right-hand side of the Alsatian defence along with Colin Dagba, who is on loan from PSG. Both players will compete with the young Pole Karol Fila. Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel has just finished two full seasons at Stade Brestois 29 (62 games), already on loan.

Further west, Stade Brestois 29 also announced on Saturday the return of a familiar Ligue 1 Uber Eats face in the person of Pierre Lees-Melou. The midfielder, who made his name at Dijon FCO before moving to OGC Nice, is coming off a season in the Premier League with Norwich (33 games, one goal). SB29's fourth summer recruit, he has signed for three seasons, plus an option. At 29 years old, the new Brest No.20 will now put his experience (23 goals and 16 assists in 151 Ligue 1 Uber Eats games) at the service of the Brittany club.

On Monday, Mateusz Wieteska came to reinforce the ranks of Clermont Foot. The 25-year-old central defender arrives from Legia Warsaw, where he was captain. A Polish international since last June, he has committed to the Auvergne club for four seasons. Trained at Legia, he was crowned Polish champion three times.
