Branco van den Boomen is getting closer to the podium. After hitting his fifth assist of the season in Toulouse FC's 5-0 win at Auxerre, Les Violets' playmaker moved into fifth place on the official Ligue 1 Uber Eats assist rankings. The 27-year-old Dutchman is now just two lengths behind Jonathan Clauss (OM, third), while the Parisian tandem of Lionel Messi-Neymar remains above the competition with ten apiece.

Since his arrival in Toulouse, Dutchman van den Boomen has racked up some fine stats, scoring 20 goals and providing 32 assists in 90 league games, Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT combined. Involved in three goals in the last three games (two goals and one assist), he is Toulouse's most decisive player this season, with a total of three goals and five assists.

A record for Florian Sotoca

Just ahead of van den Boomen, Florian Sotoca is still holding on to fourth place. In Strasbourg, the RC Lens striker provided his sixth assist, finding Loïs Openda for his side's second goal. The Sang et Or striker continues to develop his assists game, with three assists in 2020-21 and two in 2021-22.

Still in the Top 10, Dango Ouattara did well in Round 18, jumping all the way from 15th to sixth place. Against AS Monaco, the FC Lorient striker dished out his fifth assist of the season, setting up Terem Moffi for a one-on-one. The 20-year-old Burkina Faso man has already been involved in 11 goals this season - a real revelation for Les Merlus!
