Stade Rennais FC have bolstered their squad with the acquisitions of Daniele Rugani and Dalbert, who arrive at Roazhon Park on loan from Juventus and Inter Milan respectively.

Rennes have made a blistering start to the Ligue 1 Uber Eats season, winning 13 of a possible 15 points from their opening five games to sit top of the table.

The Bretons are also set to embark on their first UEFA Champions League campaign, having been drawn in Group E alongside Sevilla, Chelsea and Krasnodar.

Rudgani and Dalbert bring bags of experience. Centre-back Rugani has more than 100 Juventus appearances to his name and five Serie A titles, while left-back Dalbert helped OGC Nice qualify for the Champions League in 2016-17.

"I've arrived in an important league," Rugani said. "The Champions League is also obviously a high level, but I think the club has the chance to show good things in this competition."

Rennes recently lost first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy to Chelsea, replacing him with Dijon FCO's Alfred Gomis. Fellow new signings Serhou Guirassy and Nayef Aguerd have already slotted in well, and Dalbert thinks the team will continue to gel.

"Raphinha being here already, I followed the matches of the club - it works well," the Brazilian explained. "I spoke with him before coming. He told me a lot of good things about the city and the club. I'm very happy to be here."

Rugani and Dalbert could be handed the Rennes debuts as soon as Sunday, when les Rouge et Noir take on Stade de Reims in Brittany.
