PSG boss Luis Enrique was satisfied with his side’s work following a 3-0 win over Montpellier at the Parc des Princes on Friday evening. Despite a dominant second half display from the home side, the Spaniard was complementary to his opponents.

Luis Enrique walked into the post-match press conference at the Parc des Princes with an air of enthusiasm: his side had won, and won in convincing fashion against a persistent Montpellier outfit.

"I have to tell you I think I’ve seen the best team at the Parc des Princes [this season]. I really liked Montpellier. They have some quality players and it was hard to find and exploit any spaces,” began the Spaniard. “We made the most of our first opportunity to score, which calmed us down a bit."

Kang-In Lee providing the dazzle

Kang-In Lee’s goal in the tenth minute would have been particularly satisfying for Enrique. It capped off a silky move which included a selfless dummy run from Kylian Mbappé and a first-time curled finish from the South Korean international, whose stock is ever-increasing at PSG.

"He's a player who's played in Spain for a long time and I know him very well,” said Enrique about Kang-In Lee following the game. “Luis Campos and the club have recruited him magnificently, and I'm very lucky to have him. He's a player who's very attractive to anyone. He stands up to pressure, makes good decisions and scores goals. He's hungry to play and that's very important for a player like him."

The win against Montpellier caps off a successful five-match winning run for Les Parisiens, who will now wait on Monaco and Nice’s results to see if they can hold top spot in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. Luis Enrique's side will then travel to AC Milan next week in the Champions League, after beating the Italians 3-0 at home in the reverse fixture.
