Georges Mikautadze and Tino Kadewere were among the names on the move in today's mercato -- here's all the latest

FC Metz announced this Thursday that they have reached an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam for the loan, with option to purchase, of Georges Mikautadze. Sold to the Dutch club last summer, the 23-year-old Georgian international is making his return to Les Grenats. After scoring against Clermont Foot 63 and Olympique de Marseille at the start of the season in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, he failed to make an impact with Ajax, only playing nine matches in all competitions.

“I'm really happy to come back here. When I left for Ajax, I received many messages and I have received many more in recent days. I wanted to thank everyone, because all this love means a lot to me. I’m really happy to wear the Metz colors again and I can’t wait to hit the pitch again with this jersey, in front of our supporters,
” he told the club website. Following this transfer, the attacker will now try to relaunch himself in a club that he knows very well, wearing the number 10. The Lorraine club also announced on Thursday the departure of midfielder Habib Maïga, who is set to join Ferencvaros in that country's top flight.

Tino Kadewere loaned to Nantes

At the end of the day, FC Nantes also formalized the arrival of a new attacker. Tino Kadewere has been loaned to Les Canaris from Olympique Lyonnais until the end of the season, with an option to buy. With 11 appearances this season, including two starts, the Zimbabwean international will aim to relaunch his career on the banks of the Erdre.

“It’s a new year, a new challenge and we are going to attack it with great ambitions. The idea is to give everything to help the team. I would like to thank the club for the trust placed me. I know the Stade Beaujoire well, it's a place that I really like,” confided the new Nantes player with a big smile. The Breton club also on Thursday announced the arrival, on loan, of winger Benie Traoré from Sheffield United. An U-23 international for Côte d'Ivoire, he had impressed at Swedish club BK Hacken, but is yet to make an impact with the Blades.
