At the midway point of the 2023/2024 season, Ligue 1 has set a new historic attendance record in its stadiums.

Ligue 1 maintains its momentum in breaking attendance records. With the first half of the 2023/2024 season concluded, Ligue 1 stadiums have hosted an average of 26,742 spectators, an important jump from the 23,773 recorded at mid-season last year, reflecting a 12% increase.

This mid-season milestone sees Ligue 1 achieving historic attendance levels, with a remarkable 4,091,572 spectators attending matches after 17 match weeks. This marks an increase of 20,000 fans compared to the same period in 2022/2023, despite 17 fewer matches being played (153 matches in 2023/2024 compared to 170 in 2022/2023 after 17 days).

Notably, 13 out of the 16 clubs in Ligue 1 in 2023/2024 have already witnessed an increase or at least maintained stability in their average attendance compared to the previous mid-season. Standout performers include Stade Brestois 29 (+26%), OGC Nice and AS Monaco (+18%), and Stade de Reims (+16%). Additionally, newly promoted clubs have achieved remarkable results, with FC Metz experiencing a 74% increase in attendance, averaging 23,539 spectators. Le Havre AC's figures are even more staggering, boasting a 115% surge compared to 2022/2023, with an average of 21,320 spectators.

The stadium occupancy rate has reached an unprecedented level of 84% at mid-season 2023/2024, representing a 3.5-point increase compared to the previous mid-season, which already set a record. Eight out of 18 clubs have recorded an occupancy rate exceeding 90%, including Olympique de Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain, RC Lens, Stade Rennais FC, RC Strasbourg Alsace, FC Lorient, Stade Brestois 29, and Clermont Foot 63.

Building on the data collected last November, these impressive figures are a testament to the efforts of Ligue 1 clubs in enhancing the "fan experience" in their stadiums. French football fans continue to flock enthusiastically to support their favorite teams and players.
