A clinical Borussia Dortmund run-out as 1-0 winners against PSG in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, leaving Les Parisiens a goal behind going into next week's decisive match-up at the Parc des Princes

Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund renewed hostilities once more this season in the UEFA Champions League as Luis Enrique's men travelled to the Signal Iduna Park for a first leg clash in a huge semi-final between the two clubs. Dortmund drew first blood after what was a pensive first opening period in Germany, as Fullkrüg latched onto a dangerous ball over the top of the PSG defence and finished low past Donnarumma (36').

A big blow then came for PSG as Lucas Hernandez left the pitch with a knee injury, which led to the substitution of Beraldo for Les Parisiens. Dortmund would then get close again just before the end of the first half, as Marcel Sabitzer's volley was parried away, as the goalkeeper almost dropped the looping rebound.

The German side would fly out the blocks in the second half, threatening once again through Adeyemi, but Sancho couldn't get a strike on target from the following cross. Then it was PSG's turn to get close, as Kylian Mbappé's curled strike hit the post - with Achraf Hakimi collecting the ball and hitting the other post only ten seconds later. After the double chance, Mbappé would be played into the box another time but his strike was directed right into the arms of Kobel.

PSG wasteful in attack

It was Fabian Ruiz's turn to then go ever-so-close with a misdirected header into the ground which bounced the wrong side of the post after Marquinhos provided an inch-perfect cross into the box. Dortmund then reacted as Fullkrüg blasted over the bar from close range following some good work down the right side from Jadon Sancho.

Ousmane Dembélé went close after Mbappé's chipped ball in behind found the Frenchman, who couldn't find a way past Kobel, the German making a fine save. Dembélé had another golden chance to score following a lovely ball played to Hakimi over the top, but the Frenchman's strike was blasted over the top of the bar. Vitinha's strike went wide of the post, as PSG kept searching in vain for the equalising goal.

As the second half wore on, Les Parisiens were pushing but lacked the clinical edge to get back into the game as referee Anthony Taylor blew the final whistle. It'll come down to next week's clash at the Parc des Princes to decide who'll reach the Champions League final at Wembley in June.
