Mostafa Mohamed shoulders the responsibility of scoring goals for FC Nantes and the Egypt national team. During the 2023-24 season, the 26-year-old's has been essential in delivering goals for Les Canaris and the Pharaohs at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Last summer, Nantes finalized Mohamed's permanent stay after he had spent the 2022-23 season on loan from Galatasaray. This season, the Egyptian forward has repaid Nantes' belief in him by scoring six goals in 15 Ligue 1 appearances.

In a 2023 interview with Nantes' official website, Mohamed discussed how he views Ligue 1 as he experiences playing in one of Europe's top five leagues for the first time.

"It's a good league with competitive teams. All the teams defend very well, and it's difficult to stand out. Yes, Ligue 1 is a competitive league with talented players, in which I continue to learn. I also like the atmosphere in certain stadiums, including La Beaujoire, obviously."

Mohamed carried his goal-scoring prowess from Nantes to Egypt for the AFCON in Côte d'Ivoire. In the same interview, Mohamed emphasized the importance of his goals with the national team in this FIFA World Cup cycle, focusing on delivering a solid performance at the AFCON.

Egypt did crash out in the AFCON Round of 16, losing to the DR Congo on penalty kicks. The elimination should not take away from Mohamed's performance in Côte d'Ivoire, as he scored a goal in each of Egypt's four games.

Mohamed will now return to Nantes to maintain his impressive goal-scoring form, which will assist the team in steering clear of any relegation battle and propelling them towards safety.
