In a lively encounter in Paris, the hosts were held by an enterprising Stade de Reims, 2-2, with all of the goals coming in the first half.
In a match sandwiched between the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie and a Coupe de France quarterfinal, a much-changed Paris Saint-Germain could only draw with Stade de Reims at the Parc des Princes on Sunday afternoon.
With Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembéle and Gianluigi Donnarumma all on the bench, the hosts were quickly pegged back thanks to Reims' characteristic high press, with Marshall Munetsi opening the scoring just six minutes into the match. PSG would quickly battle back, though, and it would be Gonçalo Ramos, starting in place of Mbappé in attack, who would force an equalizer, his pressure seeing Yunis Abdelhamid put the ball past his own goalkeeper at a corner.
The own goal seemed to give PSG wings, and they soon scored a second, with Ramos taking advantage of a mix-up at the back to give his side the lead on 19 minutes. Reims, still on the fringes of the race for Europe, would be undeterred, however, and Danilo Pereira -- captain on the day -- would be forced into making a vital tackle ten minutes before the break. This only postponed the inevitable, however, as Oumar Diakité would draw the Champenois side level on the stroke of halftime.
The second half was full of chances for both sides, with Mohamed Daramy and Emmanuel Agbadou both testing Keylor Navas. Luis Enrique wasn't satisfied with the draw, despite PSG remaining ten points ahead of Brest, and would bring on Mbappé and Dembélé, hoping the two French internationals could come up with a winner. It wasn't to be, however, and the two teams exited the pitch having shared the spoils.
PSG remain top of the league, going a further point ahead of Brest following a loss for Les Pirats, while Reims remain ninth, seven points back of Lens in fifth place, before hosting Metz next weekend.
