Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed did well on loan with Nantes last season, but now as a permanent Canari, he is taking his game to the next level - and his teammates are clearly very impressed. Profile.

Mostafa Mohamed's bow-and-arrow celebration – a tribute to Zamalek, his first club in Egypt – is becoming a familiar sight for Ligue 1 Uber Eats fans.

Now in his second season, the Nantes striker is hitting the bullseye regularly, netting four goals in five games… including a beauty against Marseille.

Wowing his teammates

"Amazing, honestly," 'keeper Remy Descamps told the Ligue 1 Show. "I knew what he was going to try - he turned really quickly and got his shot away on the turn. He is a magical No.9 who knows where the goal is. He feels at home here, he knows this place inside out… he slotted it home and that's great for us!'

Club captain Pedro Chirivella is on the same page as Descamps.

"He's a real No.9," said the Spanish midfielder. "We know that he's dangerous when he gets into the box; he's a natural goalscorer and he's showing his qualities this season.'

On the up-and-up in the West of France

On loan at Nantes from Galatasaray last season, Mohamed enjoyed a decent campaign, registering eight goals and three assists.

That was enough to convince Nantes to trigger a €6m purchase option in the summer. The 25-year-old, now contracted to the club for the next four seasons, is targeting 20 league goals this time around.

Exemplary

As well as possessing an eye for goal, Mohamed fights hard and is technically sound. Discreet off the pitch, he explodes to life when the games start and he never stops running… a mentality that rubs off on those around him.

His heading game makes the Egyptian a threat in the air. Athletic, and strong in the duels, Mohamed causes problems through his movement – even if dribbling isn't his strong point.
