Marseille have snapped up promising midfielder Pape Gueye while Nice have made a move for young forward Amine Gouiri as the pair continue to build their squads for the 2020-21 season.

Gueye, 21, was out of contract at second division Le Havre where he was the most-used outfield player by Paul Le Guen last season as the Normandy outfit narrowly missed out on promotion to the top flight.

In total, the defensive midfielder made 39 second-tier appearances for Le Havre, which was also the club where Paul Pogba and former Marseille man Benjamin Mendy first came to prominence.

Gouiri, 20, already has limited Ligue 1 experience having appeared eight times in the top flight among his 15 competitive games for Lyon's first team. The France U21 international striker would surely have featured more times but for a cruciate ligament injury he suffered in August 2018.

The young forward is Nice's fifth summer recruit after Robson Bambu, Flavius Daniliuc, Hassane Kamara and ex-Manchester United and Everton man Morgan Schneiderlin all joined the Côte d'Azur club.
