LOSC know victory over Angers SCO on Sunday will secure their first Ligue 1 Uber Eats title since 2011, but les Dogues will be without suspended captain Jose Fonte at the Stade Raymond Kopa.

Fonte picked up his seventh yellow card of the season as Lille won their Derby du Nord against RC Lens two weeks ago, so will be unavailable for the side he has led to the top of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table for their final day trip to Angers.

Captain or not, Lille do have their fate in their own hands. Win, and a first French top flight title in 10 years will be theirs. Les Dogues are only one point ahead of champions and nearest challengers Paris Saint-Germain, though, after being held to a goalless draw by AS Saint-Étienne last Sunday.

Pressure on

A draw likely won't be enough for Lille, with PSG heavy favourites in their game with relegation-threatened Stade Brestois 29. Coach Christophe Galtier was understandably disappointed after an abject display.

"We would've preferred to win," he said after the game. "I didn't recognise my team. Once again we had problems at home. We would've preferred to have a bigger margin at the top, but we're still ahead. It's a final in Angers, we have to win it to be crowned champions.

"We're first, we have to win this last match," concurred Fonte. "It's a shame that we didn't score but we have to focus on the last game. We've picked up great results away from home this season and we have to win this final."

Simple swap?

Fonte is the only player missing for Galtier, with another Portuguese centre-back, Tiago Djalo, ready to step into the side. Jonathan Bamba, Benjamin André and Luiz Araujo all came off just past the hour mark against ASSE, but all could be forgiven on Sunday with the coach likely to trust the players who have taken Lille so close to glory.

There is little pressure on Angers coming into the game, with neither Europe nor relegation an issue for les Scoïstes on the final day. They won January's reverse fixture 2-1 - Romain Thomas bagging a brace - and they could provide a curveball if recent form is anything to go by.

Stéphane Moulin's side beat Dijon FCO two weeks ago, and were seconds away from holding European aspirants Olympique de Marseille to a 2-2 draw last Sunday, Arkadiusz Milik snatching all three points for OM with a 95th-minute penalty.

Moulin's lament

"I'm very proud of how we came back," explained Galtier's opposite number. "We came back, we made them doubt. We were closer to winning than losing at one point. But maybe we lose when we least deserve it. The boys' reaction should've earned a point. We can't depend on the referee against Lille, we'll simply play our game and try to win."

Unlike Galtier, Moulin has a significant list of absentees to contend with. Angers captain Ismaël Traoré has a knee injury while Ibrahim Amadou and Lassana Coulibaly - two potential shields in front of the defence - are out with a thigh strain and suspension respectively.

Possible teams

Angers: Bernardoni; Manceau, Pavlovic, Thomas, Capelle; Bobichon, Mangani; Pereira Lage, Fulgini, Thioub; Bahoken

Lille: Maignan; Çelik, Djalo, Botman, Reinildo; Araujo, André, Soumaré, Bamba; Yilmaz, David
