LOSC announced this weekend the arrival of attacking midfielder Rémy Cabella. The former Montpellier man has signed for one season, plus an option for one more.

The 32-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a one-season contract with LOSC with an option for a second, the northern club announced on Sunday.

The Ajaccio native, who had to leave Russian club Krasnodar, where he had been playing since 2019, in March because of the war in Ukraine, finished last season with Montpellier Herault SC, the club whose academy he graduated from (5 games).

The seventh club of his career

The experienced midfielder, French champion in 2012 with MHSC, is very familiar with Ligue 1 Uber Eats, where he has scored 50 goals and provided 28 assists in 245 appearances since his debut in the elite with Arles-Avignon, to which he was loaned by Montpellier at the end of 2010.

Cabella has also played for Premier League side Newcastle, Olympique de Marseille and AS Saint-Etienne, and this will be the seventh club of his career. He becomes the fourth summer recruit for Les Dogues after right-back Akim Zedadka and defensive midfielder Jonas Martin, also signed on frees, and Brazilian centre-back Alexsandro.

The club's new Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca, who arrived ten days ago, is continuing to build his squad, which will play its first warm-up match on Tuesday against USL Dunkerque (N1).
