Kylian Mbappé’s time in Ligue 1 will end after this season, but the Paris Saint-Germain star will leave the capital club with silverware, including the Golden Boot as the league’s top scorer.

Now that the Ligue 1 season is over, Mbappé has made history by winning his sixth Ligue 1 Golden Boot, more than any player ever. The PSG standout scored 27 goals in 29 appearances in this campaign and the race for this award wasn’t close.

With an eight-goal advantage over LOSC Lille standout Jonathan David (19 goals), Mbappé enjoyed his largest lead over second place since the 2018-19 season, when he had an 11-goal margin.

Mbappé had a strong season in 2023-24, scoring an average of 0.9 goals per game, or one every 84 minutes, which is consistent with his previous performances in Ligue 1.

He netted nine goals at home and 18 away, marking the lowest percentage of his goals scored at the Parc des Princes (33 percent) since he first won the top scorer award in 2018-19.

Mbappé’s average number of shots per game has stayed pretty consistent, but he’s become more efficient, converting 23 percent of his shots into goals. This is his best conversion rate since the 2020-21 season.

The 25-year-old’s winning the Golden Boot this season was a historical achievement considering the names he surpasses with his latest honor. He’s now won this award on more occasions than Jean-Pierre PapinDelio Onnis, and Carlos Bianchi, who each won it five times.

Mbappé also climbed the league’s all-time goal-scoring chart this season, now in seventh, ahead of legendary names like Joseph Uilaki (190 goals), Fleury Di Nallo (187 goals), and Bianchi (179 goals). The forward’s time at AS Monaco and PSG have solidified his place among the best players to ever play in Ligue 1.
