With the Africa Cup of Nations on the horizon in 2024 and dozens of Ligue 1 Uber Eats players set to represent their countries in Côte d’Ivoire, we continue a special series featuring the legends of the game from several of the countries that are participating. Today’s feature focuses on Guinea.

Pascal Feindouno: FC Girondins Bordeaux 1998-2014, FC Lorient 2001-2002, AS Saint-Étienne 2004-2008, AS Monaco 2011.

One of the best players in Guinea’s history, Feindouno scored 30 goals in 85 appearances for his country. In Ligue 1, he scored the goal that sealed the title for Bordeaux in 1999, and also played a key role in helping Lorient to the Coupe de France in 2002.


Morlaye Soumah: SC Bastia 1991-2003.

Soumah played a total of 243 Ligue 1 matches with Bastia. With Guinea, the centre-back played in 69 games scoring 2 goals. He also took part in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations with Guinea, where they finished second in their group and were eliminated by Mali in the quarterfinals. 


Issiaga Sylla: FC Toulouse 2013-2023, GFC Ajaccio 2015-2016, RC Lens 2020-2021, Montpellier HSC 2023-present.

Sylla has appeared in 247 Ligue 1 matches, scoring 11 times and assisting 15 times. With Guinea he has played in 74 games, scoring 3 goals since making his debut on September 7, 2011 against Venezuela. He was part of Guinea’s squad in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations when they reached the quarterfinals. 


Fodé Mansaré: Montpellier HSC 2001-2005, FC Toulouse 2005-2011.

Nominated as the best midfielder in the Africa Cup of Nations of 2006, Mansaré was a regular for Guinea for almost a decade. In Ligue 1, he played in over 100 matches for Montpellier and Toulouse scoring 21 goals in total, and also took part in the Champions League with Les Violets.


Titi Camara: AS Saint-Étienne 1990-1995, RC Lens 1995-1997, Olympique de Marseille 1997-1999.

Camara is remembered as a key player for Guinea scoring, 23 goals in 38 games. He was part of the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations as a player and after his playing career, he also coached Guinea’s national team. In Ligue 1 he scored 42 goals with three different teams.
