Eden Hazard, Yusuf Yazici and Nicolas de Préville have all played a starring role in encounters between Lille and Bordeaux in the past — ligue1.com picks out three classic games between the pair ahead of Wednesday's match-up.

2019/20, Matchday 11: Lille 3-0 Bordeaux

It was hard to believe Lille had come into the game without a win in five league games as they swept Les Girondins aside with ease. Benjamin André got the party started (22') before Yusuf Yazici scored a penalty (62') and Loïc Rémy (90+1') set the seal on the biggest margin of victory in the fixture since Lille won by the same scoreline in 2006.

2016/17, Matchday 27: Lille 2-3 Bordeaux

Bordeaux were pushing for a top-three finish when they went to the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Valentin Vada's first-half goal put the visitors in charge (16'), but current Bordeaux man Nicolas de Préville (66') and Eder (67') scored for the hosts just after the hour mark. It was another quickfire brace, from Bordeaux's Adam Ounas (78', 82'), either side of Julian Palmieri's red card (80') that won it for the visitors, who saw their former youth academy graduate, Lille midfielder Rio Mavuba, dismissed (90') as the hosts ended the game with nine men.

2011/12, Matchday 23: Lille 4-5 Bordeaux

What a game this was as the visitors went toe-to-toe and came out on top against the 2010/11 double winners. Nicolas Maurice-Belay (2') and Ludovic Obraniak (17') struck either side of David Rozehnal's goal for the hosts (8') as it was 2-1 at the break, and then it went goal-crazy in the second half. Maurice-Belay (50') and Yoan Gouffran (60') made it 4-1 before Eden Hazard (65'), Mathieu Debuchy (75') and Nolan Roux (89') levelled it up. But it still wasn't finished as former Lille man Obraniak struck again (90+3') to provide a sensational end to a sensational game.
