With Lionel Messi and several other high-profile summer signings waiting to make their Ligue 1 Uber Eats debut, ligue1.com looks at some famous PSG first league appearances.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC - Two goals on debut v Lorient, August 11 2012

Having joined from AC Milan, the Swedish giant made his league debut alongside fellow new signings Marco Verratti and Ezequiel Lavezzi. Les Merlus had become PSG's bête noires at the Parc des Princes and Lorient duly went two goals up thanks to a Maxwell own goal (4') and a Jérémie Aliadière shot past Nicolas Douchez.

This wasn't what Ibrahimovic had signed up for and the charismatic striker revved into action to salavage a point for Carlo Ancelotti's side. Ibrahimovic (64') pulled a goal back, guiding the ball past Fabien Audard after trademark chest control. The equaliser came from the penalty spot (89') after Blaise Matuidi had been fouled by Grégory Bourillon, a challenge that saw the Lorient defender sent off. So a double on debut for Ibrahimovic and the Swede continued to write his name into PSG legend over the next four years.

DAVID BECKHAM - A Classique win against Marseille, February 24 2013

Having joined Paris Saint-Germain on a short-term deal, the English legend made his debut as a substitute in the Classique at the age of 37. Beckham came on as a 76th-minute substitute for Javier Pastore with PSG a goal up thanks to a Nicolas Nkoulou own goal (12').

Amidst great media hype - with French broadcaster Canal+ using a 'Beck'Cam' to track the midfielder's every move - Beckham played a part in PSG's second goal (90+1'). The club's new number 32 flicked the ball Jérémy Ménez's way with the outside of his cultured right boot. The French international squared for Ibrahimovic to turn the ball home and Beckham was first on the scene to jump into the Swede's arms. Amidst flurries of snow, this was the hottest ticket in town and Beckham's pop star wife Victoria was in attendance at the Parc des Princes for her husband's debut.

NEYMAR - A goal and an assist at Guingamp, August 13 2017

Having joined from Barcelona for a world record fee and having been glitzily presented to the Parc des Princes crowd the previous week, the Brazilian superstar made his debut at Guingamp, a place with a population of only 7,000. The Stade Roudourou was packed as Neymar started on the left side of a front three completed by fellow South Americans Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria.

Playing in PSG's all-yellow away strip instantly made the Brazilian feel at home and he treated the crowd to some samba skills. From a gem of a Neymar cross, Marquinhos headed against the woodwork in the first half. Unai Emery's side went in front when a Neymar through ball led to chaos and Jordan Ikoko put through his own net (52'). The weight of pass from Neymar for Cavani to net the second goal was sublime (62') and he capped off a fine debut by guiding the ball in from a Cavani cutback (82'). There are still more chapters to be written in Neymar's PSG story.
