In a duel of two in-form teams in Ligue 1, OGC Nice and Stade Brestois played out a scoreless draw on Sunday at the Stade Francis Le Blé.

Both teams compete fiercely for the highly sought-after automatic UEFA Champions League spot, adding significant stakes to the match. Nice (13 total shots) and Brest (17 total shots) produced numerous shots, yet neither team managed to break the deadlock, resulting in a goalless draw after 90 minutes.

Nice had failed to secure victories in two of their last three Ligue 1 fixtures. The team lost on January 13 and settled for a draw this past weekend, which falls short of ideal considering that Brest, LOSC Lille, and AS Monaco are all close contenders for seizing second place.

Brest has maintained an impressive unbeaten run of 11 games in all competitions, with their most recent defeat occurring against Monaco on November 11, 2023. The team's recent solid performances have propelled them to the third position. Despite consecutive draws in their last two Ligue 1 matches, Brest is currently trailing Nice by three points in the race for second place.

The two teams will now shift their focus to the Coupe de France as they're looking to punch their ticket to the quarterfinals. Nice will go on the road to the Stade de la Mosson for a matchup against Montpellier HSC.

Brest will also play an away match in the Round of 16. Their matchup takes them to the French capital for a contest against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes. PSG and Brest played out a 2-2 draw last weekend, with Eric Roy and his team overcoming a 2-0 deficit.
