Paris Saint-Germain's newly signed Argentine genius Lionel Messi has won (almost) everything in his career. Take a look at one of the most densely packed trophy cabinets in world football...

Lionel Messi: the greatest player to wear the Paris Saint-Germain shirt? The capital club's recent star signing certainly has an honours list to suggest this might be the case.

Since his emergence at Barcelona - his only club before signing for PSG - the diminutive Argentine has been dazzling the football world with his class and winning everything (or almost) on offer.

Here we take a look at the achievements of the man who won the Copa America with the Albiceleste earlier this summer, ending the continental competition as the MVP, top scorer and assists leader.

Four Champions Leagues and six Ballons D'Or

At 34 years old, Lionel Messi has just achieved his first major success with the Argentine team. Winner of the Copa America after failing to reach the final of the 2014 World Cup, the man who has 76 goals in 151 appearances also won gold at the Beijing Olympics.

With Argentina as with FC Barcelona, his strides, shots and dribbles have allowed him to win the Ballon d'Or, football's supreme individual award, six times. No one has done better than La Pulga, who was again voted best player on the planet at the end of 2019 (the trophy was not awarded in 2020), enough to beat his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo (five Ballons d'Or).

In 17 seasons with FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi was crowned Spanish champion ten times. In total, he has won 35 trophies with the Catalan club, including four UEFA Champions League victories. Injured at the end of the season after taking part in six games at the beginning of the winning campaign in 2006, he was one of the main protagonists if not the main protagonist of the 2009, 2011 and 2015 crowns.

Club achievements (with FC Barcelona):
Champions League (2006, 2009, 2011, 2015)
