Montpellier Hérault SC announced the return to the club of Rémy Cabella, free of any contract after the end of his Russian adventure with Krasnodar.

Rémy Cabella returns to Montpellier. This Wednesday, the current 11th of Ligue 1 Uber Eats announced that they have found an agreement for the arrival of the attacking midfielder who was free after terminating his contract with Krasnodar due to the geopolitical situation in Russia.

A part of the Montpellier team that won the Ligue 1 Uber Eats title ten years ago, the 32-year-old attacking midfielder, who has played for Newcastle, Marseille and Saint-Etienne, comes full circle with MHSC almost eight years after his departure in May 2014. He has signed until the end of the season and will wear the number 22.

Nicollin: 'We will see whether the story continues next season'

"Remy was in rehabilitation here to treat an injury. Due to the current situation in Ukraine, we had the opportunity to hire him until the end of the season. Rémy wanted it, he should resume with the group quickly," explained club president Laurent Nicollin. "It's good for us, it's good for him, and then we will see if the story continues next season. For the moment we have him until the end of the season. I hope he'll have a blast and that he'll bring us what he can bring."
