Stade Brestois will go head-to-head with Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Sunday night in what promises to be an exciting matchup between two of the top teams in Ligue 1 this 2023-24 season.

Both teams are missing players due to their commitments to the Africa Cup of Nations or Asian Cup but the match still promises to be exciting as both teams will be eager to secure three points.

Brest have emerged as a standout team this season. Under the leadership of manager Éric Roy, they currently hold third place in the Ligue 1 table. They moved up to third place last week, overtaking AS Monaco, who slipped down after a defeat to Stade de Reims.

When these two met previously on October 29, Les Pirates gave PSG a tough game, as the leaders narrowly won 3-2, thanks to Kylian Mbappé's game-winning goal in the 89th minute.

The capital club is currently five points ahead of second-placed OGC Nice, so they will aim to maintain this lead. PSG comes into this contest having won their last five matches in all competitions, so Brest will come up against a team in good form.

PSG and Brest will face each other twice within a short span, with their other meeting on February 7 in the Coupe de France Round of 16, which will also be at the Parc des Princes.

Brest will be a valuable test for PSG, as it will allow them to assess their squad's readiness before their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg match against Real Sociedad on February 14.
