Ligue 1 stars shine in AFCON and Asian Cup action

On a busy day of international football featuring three matches in AFCON and three in the Asian Cup, the contributions of Ligue 1 stars played a decisive role in shaping the outcomes of today’s games.

In an exciting day of football at AFCON 2023, Ligue 1 players showcased their brilliance on the global stage. Senegal dominated Gambia 3-0, with FC Metz's Lamine Camara stealing the spotlight, netting a spectacular brace. Olympique de Marseille's Papa Gueye also left his mark, contributing a goal to Senegal's victory. Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye, both from Olympique de Marseille, were also key in Senegal’s result, with Sarr providing an assist for one of Camara's goals, and Ndiaye contributing an assist for the other.




In the Cameroon vs Guinea clash, where the score ended 1-1, Ligue 1 players once again took center stage. Mohamed Bayo of Le Havre AC found the net for Guinea, while Toulouse FC's Frank Magri secured the equalizer for Cameroon. 


Shifting the focus to the Asian Cup, in the South Korea vs Bahrain encounter, Paris Saint-Germain's Kang-in Lee displayed his talent by scoring a brace, propelling South Korea to a 3-1 victory. 


 



Meanwhile, in the Malaysia vs Jordan clash, Jordan emerged winners with a 4-0 score line. Mousa Al-Taamari, representing Montpellier HSC in Ligue 1, scored a brace.
